Dudley Hall is home to the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture. Students in our Bachelor of Architecture program as well as the Landscape Architecture, and Environmental Design programs have classroom and studio spaces here in Dudley Hall.
The students service offices for the college is located on the first floor of this building as well. Dudley Hall is really unique on Auburn's campus just in the fact of its library. It's really just a good place to either study or find inspiration. You also have access to the IT department. You have access to laptops, iPads, any kind of cameras, sound systems that you need. But then also what's great about Dudley Hall is the studio spaces. And studios are really designed for collaboration with classmates, with the professor, and it's more of that watering hole learning experience, where you have the collaboration. Which is what you will do in a firm, so that's what Dudley and Auburn is trying to emulate. Here at Dudley we also have a woodshop, and there's someone in there at all times that will help you, and give you advice on which materials are best for your model and your project.
Students have access to a variety of technology in Dudley. We have 3D printers, we have large plotters. We have large scanners, really anything you could use to create a beautiful portfolio or to present your projects during a pin up. In Dudley, we have so much pinup space, our walls are made specifically for students to display work. And we also have our gallery that is actually viewable from the Dudley courtyard. Although this is a studio based curriculum, we do have classrooms and these are flexible classrooms. We have tables that can move around with chairs that can move around. So you can see people in groups or maximize on the views in the classroom.
The connection you build with people in this building is unlike any other major on campus. And that's what you learn here, is how to design spaces for people to connect.
